The Great Innovation Debate
Innovation raises big questions.
For example: as a society, we need to take concerted group action in the face of challenges such as climate change, transport, longer lifespans or maintaining economic prosperity. And yet we have an increasing urge to retain our individuality – whether using RSS feeds to create our own web content, ordering customised trainers or simply keeping our identity secure. Such tensions apply in many fields - security or health, transport or communication, manufacturing or finance.
So how do we balance shared effort and ownership; the needs of society and the needs of the individual? How do we use technology and innovation to meet challenges head-on? How do we make the most of the huge business opportunities, and which businesses can benefit?
The Great Innovation Debate, compered by broadcaster Martha Kearney put these questions to our expert panel for discussion and offered the audience the chance to give their vote. Results will be added here soon.
